On July 16th at 3 p.m. Amazon’s Prime Day will begin. (I’m not sure why they call it Amazon Prime Day because it’s actually a day and a half long.) During this time Amazon Prime Members are offered sale prices on many items randomly throughout the day. I will be watching to see what kind of deals that they have. Last year I kind of regretted not having the prime membership and taking advantage of some of the deals.
I say that this COULD be a good day to shop but I also warn that you should be careful and not impulse buy. You have to choose wisely and compare prices elsewhere.First of all, you have to sign up for the Prime membership which costs $12.99 per month (or $119 per year)after your first 30 days of free membership. The Prime membership gets you free shipping on most items and that helps to absorb some of the membership cost. So, while I believe there will be some good deals during this sale and possibly a good opportunity to get started on Christmas shopping while staying within budget, I also know that it is important to decide if you will get enough benefits out of the Prime Membership to offset the cost. While I see this as an opportunity to save money on items you buy, I also see it as an opportunity to impulse buy. As with any sale, if you decide to shop, shop carefully and stay within your budget.
